iTunes library has grown quite a bit this semester...

Chicago [Sufjan Stevens]

After the end of last semester, just before Summer Session started, I was really fucking depressed. I spent most of the summer in a shitty place, and it wasn't really until the beginning of this semester that I started feeling better. Jose Godinez really helped turn my life around, and the Sufjan Stevens album Illinoise was a big part of that. Thanks, Jose.

Down the Road [Stan Rogers]

This is a live recording from his last performance at McCabe's in Santa Monica, a few days before his death in 1983.

This song has so much importance in my life right now, in so many ways.

Freedom by Richie Havens (Live from Woodstock)

Heart of Gold by Neil Young

Crooked Teeth by Death Cab for Cuite

I am only putting this song here because it came up on random today (which I found ironic).

Time to Pretend - MGMT

Can't embed the official vid, but whatever...

Pink Moon by Nick Drake

Amazing singer/songwriter who has little to no recognition left.

This song is simply spectacular, at Neil Young or Bob Dylan levels in my opinion.

08 July, 2009

Eddie Vedder

I'll just post a few videos from this fucking awesome songwriter. He pretty much sealed his place as this generation's Neil Young with the Into the Wild soundtrack.

Such Great Heights - Ben Folds cover

07 July, 2009

A Quick One, While He's Away

Best version, sent to me by the greatest girl in all of Mexico...

05 July, 2009

The Mary Ellen Carter by Stan Rogers

The story at the start of the video is almost as good as the song itself...

03 July, 2009

The Twentieth Century is Almost Over

Written by Steve Goodman (1948 - 1984)

Perhaps one of the best songs ever written, by a man known to few but loved by many...

02 July, 2009

The Eagles

I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me...

01 July, 2009

Ben Folds, again!

This is another good one of his; a bit older off "Rockin' the Suburbs".

Still Fighting It

29 June, 2009

Michael Jackson

This is by far his best song...

27 June, 2009

Robert Zimmerman

Better known as His Holiness, Bob Dylan.

The album "Bob Dylan" is amazing, and arguably the best debut album of all time.

Other great works include "Highway 61 Revisited", "Blonde on Blonde" and "Blood on the Tracks". These three albums are beyond fantastic.

My personal favorite - "The Basement Tapes" with The Band. SPOOGE!

There is not enough room on the internet for me to express my love of Bob Dylan, so I will end it here by posting my favorite Bob Dylan song.

24 June, 2009

Wolfmother

Really undecided over whether or not this band is "good".

On the one hand, Joker and the Thief is an amazing song. This is by far the best live version, from the Isle of Wight in 2007:

On the other hand...Woman is arguably the most annoying song of all time.

I don't know...very, very undecided on these assholes.

Ben Folds: You Don't Know Me

This is my new favorite song, for sure.

Too bad the video is directed by Tim and Eric...
